What is a Student Recreation & Wellness Center?

Some people think of it as a gym but it's not really the same thing. A Student Recreation & Wellness Center is usually built on a college campus specifically for students. The center provides opportunities for physical wellness and educational activities. The center also offers student employment, volunteer and internship opportunities. These centers are usually student-fee funded, which means they are owned by students. Students take ownership of the facility and determine what kinds of programs and services should go into the Student Recreation & Wellness Center.Swimmer doing the breast-stroke

When built at other universities, the centers have been known to enhance the quality of life on campus and indirectly support students' academic success.  The centers do this by serving as a place for students to exercise, hang out, study and eat healthier meals.Students like spending time at Student Recreation & Wellness Centers because
